The upgrade version requires a previous version license key in addition to the v4 license key that you will receive. You can order this version if you already own any previous version, including any of v3, v2, or v1 either EDU or commercial licenses. You can still order the upgrade even if you have skipped versions and do not have the latest.

BRL-CAD is a cross-platform open source solid modeling system that includes interactive geometry editing, high-performance ray-tracing for rendering and geometric analysis, image and signal-processing tools, a system performance analysis benchmark suite, libraries for robust geometric representation, with more than 20 years of active development. BRL-CAD runs on BSD, Irix, Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris, and Windows. BRL-CAD became an open source project in 2004, with portions licensed under the LGPL and BSD licenses.

HeeksCAD, like FreeCAD, is based on OpenCasCade, and has similar modeling functionality, with neutral IGES, STEP and STL file format exchange. It's much less dependent on parametric editing than FreeCAD and the GUI is more integrated, not modular. Its development has slowed down, and Windows installers have not been updated since 2011. The software needs to be compiled from source for Linux systems. Distributed under BSD license.

Hi, I am actually qualifing for Fusion startup license. Will I still qualify in october? will the requeriments for startup license change? I live outside the US, I could not pay for it on the Autodesk online store.

I would consider a subscription, but $500/yr after the first for hobbyist is extremely too high, even with Egale that I would also use. My day job is enterprise IT and nothing I use there professional is over $200/yr for renewal, let alone double after the first year, and I get far more use and value from those licenses.

I am currently using the one year license for startups, I am offer freelance CAD servce. And I remain in the same work as in october last year. Is there a way to know if I will be approbed again?. I am from other country I could not pay for Fusion at the online store as it require an US adress. Thanks.

14 days to export 4 years of work. Absolutely absurd. Corporations are inherently incapable of altruism, and so we can safely infer that up until now this has been favorable for Autodesk. In exchange for a hobbyist license, Autodesk got thousands of free beta testers (sorely needed when their initial product offering was a disaster). Professionals want their software solution to work, or they drop it. Hobbyists tinker, experiment, and collaborate. They also make content. Thousands of hours of educational content, and we all know how important that is for market adoption. Autodesk got a sweetheart deal with a built-in market and broad userbase educated in the product and influencing vendor decisions in the professional world.

Have the Autodesk management explored the option of perpetual fallback license like what was done by JetBrains? Maybe introduce a one-time fee with all the features included and cloud access for up to a year and if not renewed, the user will not have access to cloud storage, collaboration via Autodesk server, update to latest version and cloud computing; but everything remain available except has to be done locally.

People are ready, cash in hand, for a hobby price friendly option. $60/month is not that. Hell, make the personal use version make all design files public and CC-NC licensed. That would be FAR more palatable to your hobby clients while being a huge red flag for anyone working commercially.

Removal of STEP export prevents me from using Fusion 360 as a hobbyist. Limitations under the free license is quite reasonable, but the later removal of core features feels like a bait-and-switch. It makes me question the long-term consequences of relying on a purchased license at work. 2ff7e9595c
